Amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, live entertainers are turning to social media to boost their engagement and reach new audiences in this unprecedented time of isolation. With stay at home orders governing almost every state in America, people are being forced to find new ways of entertainment and social interaction during a time where social distancing is highly recommended. Thanks to platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, celebrities, entertainers, and influencers have been able to provide “live” in-home experiences to each of their followers. With the creation of “#VERZUZ,” a live head-to-head producer battle started by Timbaland and Swizz Beats, artists, producers, and DJs have flocked to Instagram live to find new ways to interact with their fans. Following suit, one of South Florida’s premier DJs, DJ Chris is bringing a new, and one of a kind virtual music experience to his listeners.
On April 19th from 7-9 PM, hosted by The Lipstickroyalty Agency, DJ Chris presents “Sunday Dinner,” an interactive experience, simulcast on Instagram Live and Facebook Live. The live celebration will feature feel-good music spun by DJ Chris, a chance to engage in great conversation, and giveaways, including free groceries for those who tune in. Sunday Dinner aims to take a different approach than other live events happening across social media by uplifting and empowering attendees affected by the Coronavirus and its crippling effects. The virtual event is completely free, though attendees are urged to register via EventBrite.
