Luxury bridal lifestyle magazine SIGNATURE BRIDE has launched SIGNATURE TRAVEL to help engaged Black couples interested in a destination wedding discover amazing locales in person.
Designed to give Black couples a one-of-a-kind experience, couples not only get to see the sights and immerse in the food and culture of a locale, but they get to experience up close and personally what they can offer their guests. Plus, on the tours they will meet with a local event planner who can help guide them in the process and protocols for getting married in a specific locale.
“This is truly an amazing opportunity to join SIGNATURE BRIDE’s team to discover in person what a destination offers. Typically, when couples are interested in a destination wedding, they work with the wedding team of a resort or locale; they look at photos on their email or via Facetime. We believe that if you are going to spend time and money to plan a dream destination wedding, you should go and experience what that location offers,” says Shawn Nelson, editor-in-chief of SIGNATURE BRIDE.
The tours are designed to be intimate and curated to showcase all types of venues, restaurants, and activities. SIGNATURE TRAVEL will showcase three destinations in 2023: Napa Valley in June, Nassau/Grand Bahama in September, and Italy (Tuscany and Milan) November 4-11, 2023. SIGNATURE BRIDE partners with established tour guide companies to create these trips.
For those interested in Italy, registration is underway, with reservations and deposits ($500 nonrefundable) due no later than March 20. Partnering with Italian Exclusive Vacations, couples on the Italy trip can expect hands-on cooking classes, wine and cheese tastings, ceramic making and so much more—and of course, visiting amazing locales and local restaurants for festivity potential! Brides will even get a special trip to bridal designer Peter Langner’s design house in Milan to find their dream dress.
“The destination wedding segment has come roaring back,” says Nelson.
“Destination weddings offer couples a wedding-meets-vacation vibe, hosting friends and family for three or more days with back-to-back events. Our trips allow couples to experience for themselves what they can offer their family and friends. They will engage with the owners and managers of these venues and really get an understanding of what they can curate for their guests.”
According to TripSavvy, destination weddings account for $16 billion in annual spending. The after-effects of the pandemic have led to an increased influx of destination weddings for 2023 and destination weddings are expected to continue to be a trend for couples who are looking to create the ultimate guest experience. And, guest attendance is expected to be up this year and beyond as people start traveling again.
“We are excited about all our scheduled trips this year. It’s a nice balance as we offer something for the bride who wants that European flair, or the beachy/Bohemian bride and those who want to stay in the country but have a more refined and relaxing time,” says Nelson.

Deposits will be due by that date with payment for the trip due in full by August 1, 2023. The trip cost ($3360 per person double occupancy and excluding airfare) includes four-star hotels, meals, experiences, entry fees, transportation, taxes and airport transfer. Italian Exclusive Vacations can book travel for all participants.
