Every March, Miami becomes the undisputed capital of electronic music.
Once a year, a single city becomes the heartbeat of the entire global dance music industry. Labels, DJs, promoters, brands, and fans from over 90 countries converge on Miami for a week that is equal parts festival, business summit, and cultural celebration — and it goes by one name: Miami Music Week.
What Is Miami Music Week?
Miami Music Week (MMW) is an annual, city-wide electronic music event that takes place during the last week of March in Miami, Florida. It is widely regarded as one of the most important weeks in the global dance music calendar ... a concentrated explosion of live performances, industry conferences, pool parties, label showcases, and late-night events that transforms the entire city into a non-stop dance music destination.
The 2026 edition runs from March 24–29, spanning venues across South Beach, Wynwood, Downtown Miami, and beyond, with over 200 individual events taking place across nightclubs, hotel rooftops, warehouses, and open-air stages.
Think of it as America's answer to Amsterdam Dance Event — a week where the industry gathers, deals are made, new artists break through, and hundreds of thousands of fans experience performances they will remember for the rest of their lives.

A Brief History: How MMW Was Born
Miami Music Week did not emerge overnight.
Its roots trace back to 1985, when the Winter Music Conference (WMC) — one of the world's first dedicated electronic music industry conferences — began drawing label executives, DJs, and music professionals to Miami each spring. WMC established Miami as a key hub for the dance music business long before the mainstream discovered EDM.
In 1999, Ultra Music Festival was born — a one-day beach event at Collins Park, Miami Beach, founded by Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes. With around 10,000 attendees at its debut, no one could have predicted it would become one of the world's defining cultural events. The festival's name was inspired by the 1997 Depeche Mode album of the same title.
As Ultra grew — expanding to a two-day, then three-day format, and eventually drawing hundreds of thousands of attendees — the constellation of pool parties, brand showcases, and club events that sprang up around it became so significant they needed their own identity. Miami Music Week became the umbrella term for the entire week's programming, officially launching as a branded event in 2011.

The Three Pillars of MMW
The Three Pillars of Miami Music Week
1. Ultra Music Festival
The crown jewel of MMW, Ultra Music Festival is a three-day outdoor event held at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami. The 2026 edition (March 27–29) marks the festival's 26th year and features its most ambitious lineup to date — with 150+ artists, 46 debut performances, and headline acts including Martin Garrix b2b Alesso, Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, Dom Dolla, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, and Skrillex, among many others. Ultra operates multiple stages simultaneously, including the iconic RESISTANCE stage dedicated to underground house and techno.
2. Winter Music Conference (WMC)
Now in its fourth decade, the Winter Music Conference is the business brain of MMW. The 2026 edition at the Kimpton EPIC Hotel offers two programming tracks: WMC // INDUSTRY — covering label operations, event production, marketing, and emerging technologies — and WMC // CREATORS, offering hands-on workshops for DJs, producers, and content creators. The EPIC Hotel rooftop hosts daily pool parties that blend networking with world-class entertainment, making it one of the week's most valuable stops for industry professionals.
3. The Extended MMW Universe
Beyond Ultra and WMC, the week is filled with hundreds of independent events. Iconic pool parties at South Beach hotels like the Surfcomber and Sagamore draw A-list DJ talent in intimate, sun-soaked settings. Label showcases from STMPD RCRDS, Defected, Glitterbox, and RESISTANCE take over venues city-wide. Underground warehouse events in Wynwood and Hialeah showcase cutting-edge techno, drum & bass, and experimental sounds. And marathon sets at legendary clubs like Space Miami and E11EVEN run well into the following afternoon.
The Real Benefits of Miami Music Week
MMW is more than a party. For artists, industry professionals, brands, and fans alike, it delivers distinct and lasting value.
Career-Defining Exposure for Artists
Performing at MMW — whether at Ultra's Mainstage or a curated pool party — places artists in front of global bookers, label A&R reps, media, and hundreds of thousands of fans. More than 1,000 DJs and live acts perform across the week, and a standout set can unlock a full season of international bookings.
Unrivalled Industry Networking
The density of decision-makers in one city during MMW is unmatched. Label heads, festival promoters, managers, booking agents, and brand partners all converge simultaneously. Conversations that normally take months of emails can happen organically at a pool party or WMC panel.
Global Media & Streaming Visibility
Ultra's live stream reaches millions of viewers worldwide, and MMW generates enormous social media coverage, press features, and content across every major platform. Artists and brands who participate become part of a global conversation happening in real time.
Education & Creative Innovation
WMC's creator workshops offer producer masterclasses, gear demos, and panels on everything from spatial audio to social media strategy. Sessions like "Beyond the Booth: DJs as Spatial Composers" keep the community at the frontier of live performance technology.
Massive Economic Impact
Ultra alone generates approximately $79 million annually for Miami-Dade County according to a Washington Economics Group study. Over its lifespan, the festival has contributed over $1 billion to the local economy, supporting hotels, restaurants, retail, and thousands of jobs.
Community & Global Connection
With attendees from over 90 countries, MMW is a rare gathering where electronic music's global tribe meets in person. The shared experience — from sunrise sets to closing acts — forges connections that sustain careers and communities for years beyond the week itself.

The Numbers Behind the Music
Miami Music Week is not just a cultural event — it is a significant economic engine. According to a city-funded study by the Washington Economics Group, Ultra Music Festival alone generates approximately $79 million annually for Miami-Dade County, contributing $50 million to local GDP and supporting $32 million in labor income. Approximately 75% of Ultra attendees travel from outside Miami, injecting an estimated $40 million into local restaurants, bars, and businesses each year.
Over its 25+ year history, Ultra Music Festival has generated over $1 billion in cumulative economic impact for the city of Miami — and that figure does not account for the hundreds of surrounding MMW events. The hospitality sector, transportation industry, and retail businesses all experience significant revenue boosts during the week, while global media attention drives long-term tourism and investment into the city.

Industry Professionals — Label executives, managers, agents, publicists, and promoters come to MMW to close deals, discover talent, attend WMC panels, and maintain global partnerships in one compressed, high-energy environment.
Brands & Sponsors — The intersection of music, lifestyle, and a global audience makes MMW one of the most targeted brand activation environments in the world. Pool party sponsorships, WMC stage presentations, and artist partnerships offer unparalleled reach.

Insider Tips for Getting the Most Out of MMW
Book early — everything sells out. Accommodation near South Beach and Downtown Miami fills months in advance. Ultra tickets sell out quickly; purchase only through official channels at ultramusicfestival.com.
Build your schedule before you arrive. With 200+ events happening simultaneously, having a plan is essential. Use the official schedule at miamimusicweek.com to identify must-see performances and avoid overlap.
Attend WMC if you're in the industry.
The conference panels and EPIC Hotel rooftop pool parties are where real professional relationships are built. Don't underestimate the value of the daytime programming over the all-night sets.
Explore beyond Ultra. The pool parties, warehouse events, and club nights during MMW often feature the most exciting and adventurous programming of the entire week — label showcases and underground selectors that offer something completely different from the festival mainstage experience.
Use public transit. Metromover and Metrorail are your best allies — rideshare surge pricing after major sets can be severe, and traffic around Bayfront Park is intense. Arriving earlier in the day reduces stress and gives you time to explore before the biggest crowds arrive.
